PENSACOLA, FLA— Supervisors working in different capacities at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office have graduated from the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute’s Florida Leadership Academy class 59.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeremy Fisher of the Law Enforcement Training Division and Sergeant Kasey McKee of the Jail Operations Bureau were among the 45 graduates serving in leadership roles representing 34 criminal justice agencies throughout the state.
Students met for four week-long sessions at The FDLE Pensacola Regional Operations Center, where they learned the necessary skills to support the needs of their agencies and their communities as they prepare for future challenges.
The goal of the Florida Leadership Academy is to prepare first-line supervisors in criminal justice organizations to exemplify the character and integrity expected of criminal justice professionals and to examine the various components necessary to be an efficient leader.
Sergeant Fisher began his career with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in 2013. Before joining WCSO, Fisher served in the United States Marine Corps. Fisher was promoted to Sergeant in October of 2023. He currently serves as the Sergeant over Training. Fisher is an active member of the WCSO SWAT Team. He has received four Letters of Commendation and numerous accolades throughout his career.
Sergeant McKee has been with WCSO since 2016, when he was sworn in as a Detention Deputy. In August of 202,1 he was promoted from Detention Deputy to Corporal. Then, in February 2024, he was promoted to Sergeant. McKee also serves on the Jail’s Corrections Special Operations Group (C-SOG) Team.
“We’re excited to witness how these two men take what they’ve learned and use it to make a real difference—not just for the residents and visitors of Walton County, but for those who work in or are incarcerated in our jail,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “Their journey reflects a deeper calling: to grow, to lead, and to serve with purpose. We’re incredibly proud of their dedication to becoming not just better officers, but better men.”
