LITTLE LEAGUE COACH CHARGED WITH SEXUAL BATTERY ON EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD
Walton County, Fla— A little league coach already incarcerated in Walton County is now charged with sexual battery on an eight year old.
Hughes was arrested on September 15th for using a computer to solicit a parent to consent to the participation of their child in sexual conduct, knowingly transmitting child porn, and promoting sexual performance of a child during August 2016 through September of 2016. The age of the child Hughes requested to have sexual contact was 10 years of age. The photography Hughes transmitted was of a young female, age 5 or 6, performing oral sex on a male.
During the investigation following Hughes arrest an eight year old female disclosed to Walton County investigators that Hughes had touched her inappropriately and made her take her clothes off so he could photograph and video tape her. She also told investigators Hughes told her not to tell anybody. The victim also revealed to investigators that Hughes forced her to watch the recordings of her molestation.
“This is a sick individual who has caused unimaginable harm to this little girl,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “Additional child pornography trafficking images have been identified, which may lead to the identity of more victims. As sad as this case is, we know there may be more victims.”
According to the victim this abuse started when she was 6 or 7 years old. Her description of the inappropriate touching varied from each occurrence but all involved sexual molestation. Hughes is charged with sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12 and showing obscene material to a minor. He is currently being held on $500,000 bond.
