FREEPORT, Fla— A woman pleads for help at a nearby church after a man repeatedly beat her in his home overnight.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Marrion Quiten Holmes Monday, at a residence on State Highway 20 in Freeport. The victim told investigators the two got into a verbal argument that quickly turned physical lasting throughout Sunday night into the early morning hours Monday. The following day she was able to go nearby to a church.

The victim was held against her will and repeatedly beaten by Holmes, at times using a stick. At one point Holmes picked the victim up by her throat with both hands and slammed her to the ground. The victim was able to get outside, at which time Holmes then kicked her off the porch causing her to strike her head. Holmes then ripped off the victims clothing and continued striking her with his fists and stick. The beating continued inside after Holmes dragged the victim by her hair back into the home. Once inside, Holmes then proceeded to have sexual intercourse without the victims consent.

Multiple injuries on the victim’s head, neck, face, legs and arms were consistent with her statements. A search warrant was also carried out at Holmes’ residence resulting in the discovery of additional evidence. Holmes denied any physical altercation, but admitted the two had consensual sexual intercourse. Holmes was arrested and charged with sexual battery, aggravated battery, and false imprisonment. Holmes was taken to the Walton County Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
