WCSO PARTICIPATES IN NO-SHAVE NOVEMBER
DeFuniak Springs, Fla— Ready, set, GROW. The men at Walton County Sheriff’s Office will be sporting their five o’clock shadows this month to raise awareness for cancer prevention.
Deputies are given the opportunity (thanks to our AMAZING Sheriff, Michael Adkinson) to grow a mustache or beard (within specs of course) during the entire month of November and donate $30 to the American Cancer Society.
“This is a great way to engage people in our community,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “When they see a Walton County Deputy and wonder why he’s growing a beard… they’ll ask questions.”
That’s how the awareness grows. No pun intended.
Participating deputies will receive a small pin to signify their participation.
