We received this email from a mother who’s son recently met Walton County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Eric Welton.

“He was so sweet to my son who is a high functioning Autistic Level 1 and has not put down his badge he was given by deputy!

My son has always told me he wants to grow up to be a security guard and might have some future aspirations to be police officer now that he has his badge. Eric literally made my son’s day so awesome by that kind gesture. I really wanted to thank you! This has meant the world to my son and I.

He is home schooled right now. We shuttle back and forth for therapies and this little one was so ecstatic yesterday and it is so important to me that he establishes positive interactions with our sheriff’s department being that he does have Autism.”
