WCSO ASSISTS FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL AND US MARSHALS WITH FELONY STOP, ARREST FOR LOUSIANA FUGITIVE

WALTON COUNTY, Fla – A woman wanted out of the state of Lousiana for robbery is arrested in Walton County following a traffic stop in Mossy Head.

Wednesday afternoon, a “BOLO” or “Be on the Lookout”, was sent out agency wide regarding a vehicle driven by Alexa Marie Braud, 34, of Gretna, Louisiana.

A Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the red Toyota Corolla just after 2:40 pm at the intersection of State Highway 285 and Highway 90 in Mossy Head.

A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper, multiple units from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, and deputies from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a felony stop at a nearby gas station. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the car revealed a small cooler containing nearly $150,000 in cash and a firearm.

Braud was transported and booked into the Walton County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Louisiana where she is being charged with felony theft.
