WCSO, ADVANCE AUTO PARTS PARTNER UP TO PROMOTE SAFETY ON THE ROADWAYS
WALTON COUNTY, FLA– Your next traffic stop in Walton County could be the “ticket” to getting your vehicle repaired.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office has partnered up with Advance Auto Parts to launch a program designed to increase roadway safety for local drivers while creating positive interactions with law enforcement.
During the effort, Advance’s store team presented WCSO with an Advance gift card donation totaling $1,500 through the retailer’s “Advancing Our Roads” program. When a Walton County Deputy notices a vehicle with an equipment violation such as a nonfunctioning headlight or taillight, the deputy may issue a $25 gift card during the traffic stop while encouraging them to use the gift card to assist in repairing their vehicle.
“We’re thrilled to work alongside WCSO to bring this unique program to Walton County,” said Brenna Kellerman, Advance’s district manager. “Our team is grateful for the opportunity to help motorists across the county with their vehicles. Small gestures like a $25 gift card can be incredibly impactful, and we are looking forward to seeing how this program can make a difference in the community.”
Advance has deployed more than 75 “Advancing Our Roads” programs across the U.S. since the retailer first launched the effort in 2020. Law enforcement agencies in
Florida, including Orlando Police and Collier County Sheriff’s office, have participated in the program. However, it’s the first program of its kind for Advance in Northwest Florida.
“These interactions give us a chance to connect with our community and also assist them during tough economic times,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “We are thrilled at the opportunity to team up with Advance Auto Parts to bring this service to Walton County.”
Motorists who receive gift cards may use them at Advance’s new store in Santa Rosa Beach, across Florida, or online at AdvanceAutoParts.com.
