Question: What if the incident took place inside the city limits of DeFuniak Springs or outside of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction?

  • Answer: Contact the DeFuniak Springs Police Department at (850) 892-8513 or the appropriate agency directly.

Question: What is a known suspect?

  • Answer: A known suspect is someone you or a witness can identify by name, the license plate the suspect was riding in, or where the suspect is currently located. Call the non-emergency line at (850) 892-8111 if you have any of this information to speak to a deputy.

Question: What if there is evidence to be collected?

Question: What do I do if the item stolen was a vehicle, firearm, prescription medication, or has a serial number?

Question: What if this incident is related to a traffic crash that has already occurred?

  • Answer: Call the non-emergency line at (850) 892-8111 to report it or request a copy of the report.

Question: What if I have damaged property or vandalism?

  • Answer: Call the non-emergency line at (850) 892-8111 to report the incident to a deputy.

Question: Can I update my report with additional information?

  • Answer: Yes you can if you have your case number. A Supplement Report should only be used to update your case with new information or documents/photographs. Examples would be new witnesses, additional property that was lost, found, stolen, or recovered along with the value of the item, and documents.

Question: Where can I find my case number?

  • Answer:  Your case number will be in the email you received when the report was approved. If you do not have access to that email, you will need to contact the Online Administrator at 850-892-8111.

Question: Can I add new evidence to a Supplemental Report?

  • Answer: No, you will need to contact dispatch at the non-emergency line (850) 892-8111 to speak to a deputy directly.

Question: Can I print my report?

  • Answer: Yes, you are given the option to print your report when you file it.
