Law Enforcement
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is a full-service, state accredited public safety agency that serves the entirety of Walton County, Florida. WCSO employs approximately 370 law enforcement employees, including roughly 250 certified deputy sheriffs and 120 administrative employees.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office provides full-time law enforcement services in the four main districts of Walton County In addition, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office protects the Walton County Courthouse, the Walton County Courthouse Annex and Walton County Schools.
The Law Enforcement Division also houses WCSO’s Criminal Investigations Bureau which is comprised of Major Crimes, Narcotics, the Special Victim’s Unit, Domestic Violence, Cyber Crimes and School Resource Deputies.
WCSO also staffs specially-trained units to deal with unique law enforcement situations, which include the SWAT team, the Aviation Unit, Beach Patrol, the Dive Rescue Team and the K9 Unit.
