Art in the Park Program

Creativity with a Purpose
Art in the Park is a community-based program launched by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 to help prevent graffiti and vandalism in local parks by turning blank walls into works of art.
The idea? Give high school art students the chance to showcase their talent while making our parks brighter, more welcoming spaces for everyone. It’s about creating something positive, together.
Where Art Meets Community
When students are invited to paint murals in public spaces, they form a stronger connection to their community—and help protect it, too. Art in the Park not only gives young artists a platform to express themselves, but also offers scholarship opportunities to support their education and future goals.
What started in Driftwood Estates has grown into something bigger. From Wee Care Park to Helen McCall Park, students have stepped up to bring color and character to Walton County parks.
Building a Brighter Future
Art in the Park is more than paint on a wall. It’s about giving students a voice, creating safer spaces, and building something lasting. Each mural tells a story—one of creativity, teamwork, and pride in where we live.
We’re excited to see where the next mural pops up, and even more excited to support the next group of student artists who will help shape it.
