DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla— A Winter Springs man is behind bars following an investigation by Walton County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.

WCSO SVU with the assistance of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Ian Christopher Hannah, 33, on January 10, 2018.

Investigators of the WCSO Special Victims Unit conducted an investigation where Hannah solicited who he believed to be a 13-year-old female. He also sent internet links to pornography and during the conversations made the statement, “I can talk dirty to you or send you naughty pics of things I’d like to do to you.”  Hannah made many statements of a sexual nature and encouraged sexual acts.

The WCSO SVU lead case investigator sought an arrest warrant for Hannah for charges of online enticement of a minor, transmission of harmful material to a minor and using a two-way communication device to facilitate these crimes. Investigators communicated and coordinated with SCSO and Hannah was arrested. Both Sheriff’s Offices are active members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind parents to be aware of the dangers to their children when they are online. Information for parents is available and can be obtained by contacting the Special Victims Unit.

The investigation continues and more information will be released when available.
