WCSO TO SUSPEND BEACH ACCESSES FROM CR 283 EAST BEGINNING AT 7 PM; SAND CLOSED TO LARGE CROWDS, UNACCOMPANIED TEENS

Deputy Sheriff vehicles lined up across the beach in front of a large crowd of teenagers at night.WALTON COUNTY, FLA—Until further notice, Walton County Sheriff’s Office plans to suspend beach access from County Road 283 S to the Bay County line beginning at 7 pm.

In anticipation of the large influx of crowds of teenagers from April 1st through April 5th, Walton County Sheriff’s Office plans to aggressively target large crowds of unaccompanied teenagers and prevent them from gathering in large groups on the sand in Santa Rosa Beach.

Anyone caught trespassing on private property to gain access to the beach will be charged accordingly. Large congregations will not be allowed on the sand.

This release is serving as a warning to those who plan to come to the beach in groups.

“Our team is in the final stretch of Spring Break,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “It is imperative that during our busiest week – Atlanta – we prevent a situation from getting out of control. We are trying to get ahead of this now.”

This effort will not prevent families from visiting the beach but is specifically for minors without adult supervision. We appreciate the patience of our residents during this time.
