WCSO INVESTIGATING EARLY MORNING SHOOTING IN MOSSY HEAD THAT INJURED JUVENILE
WALTON COUNTY, FLA— Just before 2 am Thursday, Walton County Sheriff’s Office communications center received a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting on West Cypress Avenue in Mossy Head. The caller told dispatchers a juvenile was injured while he was asleep inside the home.
Deputies and Walton County Fire Rescue quickly arrived on scene and the child was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
The Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing the investigation with follow-up interviews, and neighborhood canvassas, and asked the Walton, Holmes, and Okaloosa Correctional K-9 Teams to come and run a track to identify a possible foot trail.
A person of interest has been identified at this time. Our agency will release more information as the investigation progresses.
