WCSO DIVE TEAM ACHIEVES PUBLIC SAFETY DIVER CERTIFICATION IN THE COLD

Can you say BRR! Nothing gets our blood pumping like diving in 32° weather! This month the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team completed a 36 hour course on evidence and body recovery in zero water visibility conditions. The team also learned different underwater search patterns and other methods to help during investigations. The group trained at several locations in our local area including Vortex Springs, Morrison Springs, and Lake Powell over several weekends in December. Talk about commitment!

Big thanks to Adam Wendt from Scuba Dive Training who was the instructor for the course. Congratulations to our deputies Sergeant John Glenister, Deputy Keith Parsons, Deputy Corey Rawles, and Deputy Mitch Fugate for completing the certification no matter the elements!
