WALTON COUNTY FIRE RESCUE KNOCKS DOWN RESIDENTIAL FIRE IN FREEPORT

FREEPORT, FL – Walton County Fire Rescue (WCFR) firefighters responded to a house fire on Stanley Drive on Saturday night. Their quick action stopped the fire from spreading to other nearby structures.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office communications center received the 911 call at 8:57 p.m. The caller stated their home was on fire. WCFR firefighters arrived on scene within minutes and confirmed a light haze showing from the roof of the single-wide mobile home. At 9:11 p.m., just 14 minutes after the initial 911 call was made, WCFR had the fire knocked down, keeping the fire from spreading to other occupied structures.

The fire is believed to have been caused by electrical issues originating in the mobile home’s electrical panel.
