WALTON COUNTY, Fla— A Santa Rosa Beach man has been arrested on more than 60 felony charges, including the possession and distribution of child porn.

On March 14, Walton County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit arrested Christopher Pappenfort, 44, of Santa Rosa Beach.

The investigation stemmed from a CyberTip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), regarding a social media app user transmitting files of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

The files referenced in the tip received by our Cyber Crimes Unit revealed videos of children between the ages of 3 and 13 being sexually abused. It was found during the investigation that Pappenfort sent videos to app users nearly 60 times.

After multiple subpoenas to phone, internet, and social media providers, two search warrants were conducted on Thursday – one of which was on Pappenfort’s residence on Mack Bayou Drive. During the searches, numerous electronic devices were seized and investigators were able to link Pappenfort to accounts that were used to send the CSAM.

Pappenfort is charged with 6 counts of possession of child porn, 58 counts of transmitting child pornography, and 1 count of using a two-way communication device in the commission of a felony. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

Pappenfort was given a $25,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
