NEARLY 30 GRAMS OF FENTANYL FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOP; DEFUNIAK SPRINGS MAN ARRESTED

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— A DeFuniak Springs man is charged with trafficking in fentanyl after a traffic stop in Walton County.
Tuesday evening, a Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 90 in DeFuniak Springs for a registration not matching the vehicle’s description.
DeFuniak Springs Police Department K-9 “Arson” was deployed to assist during the stop and alerted on the car.
A search of the vehicle revealed 29.8 grams of fentanyl, along with a small amount of meth and paraphernalia.
The driver, Christopher Wright, 38, was arrested for trafficking fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance, and paraphernalia. He was arrested and booked into the Walton County Jail, issued a $50,000 bond, and released the following day.
