AUTHORITIES ASKING FOR COMMUNITY’S HELP WITH DEFUNIAK SPRINGS HOMICIDE

DeFuniak Springs, Fla— A person of interest associated with the brutal murder of a Pensacola woman in DeFuniak Springs has been identified. Now, law enforcement agencies in Walton County are asking for the public’s help in gathering additional information.

Latasha Nicole Prim, 30, was last seen in the DeFuniak Springs area on Friday night September 30th. Prim’s body was found near Mt. Nebo Baptist church October 1st.

The initial response was handled by the DeFuniak Springs Police Department who notified the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for assistance. The State Attorney’s Office was notified and provided legal guidance.

Sunday, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office began assisting in the investigation.

Prim was positively identified late in the day October 4th, 2016 by fingerprint comparison. Her family was notified that day by an investigator.

The person of interest is currently a patient in a regional hospital in critical condition.

All agencies involved are asking the public for any additional information someone may have in regard to the victim or anyone she was seen with in the time before her murder.
