FREEPORT MAN ARRESTED FOR GRAND THEFT AFTER STEALING VEHICLE FROM LOCAL GAS STATION

Freeport, Fla – A suspect is behind bars after stealing a vehicle with the keys still inside at a gas station in Freeport.
On May 31, 2017, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Express Lane off Highway 20 in Freeport where a victim parked her truck at the gas pump and entered the store.
Surveillance video revealed a male subject casing the parking lot and leaving in the truck at 9:03 a.m. The suspect was later identified as Christopher Brian Piette, 26, of Freeport.

Responding units immediately began searching for the stolen vehicle, described as a 2000 green top and silver bottom Toyota Tundra with a 3 inch lift, Terra Grappler tires, new rims, an Alabama Crimson Tide tag on the front and a Green Hornet sticker on the windshield. On June 15, the stolen truck was found in an abandoned parking garage in Omaha, Nebraska.
On Monday, June 19, 2017 Christopher Piette was located in a residential area in Freeport and was arrested for grand theft of a motor vehicle and transported to Walton County Jail.
