WCFR CADET POST GETS OFFICIAL “850” DESIGNATION; WCFR BATTALION CHIEF NAMED NWFL REGIONAL COORDINATOR

Walton County Fire Rescue is thrilled to announce our newly launched Fire Cadet Program has an official post number!

Introducing WCFR Cadet Post 850!

We submitted the 850 number so the program could represent all counties in the Florida Panhandle.

In addition, we would like to congratulate Battalion Chief Thomas McElyea for being named the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association Fire Cadets Northwest Florida Regional Coordinator.

The purpose of the Fire Cadet program is for young men and women considering a career in fire rescue and emergency services, to partner with Walton County Fire Rescue to gain practical training and experience through education, community involvement, and public service.
