SUSPECT ATTEMPTS TO FLUSH DRUGS DURING SEARCH WARRANT; ARRESTED FOR TRAFFICKING METH

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— A Walton County man is arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and other drug charges following a search warrant at his Freeport home Monday.
On December 8th Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics Unit was granted a search warrant for the home of Ryan Patrick Asbury, 35, of 24 Oak Place in Freeport.
During the execution of the search warrant on the morning of December 11th, Asbury was found in the master bathroom trying to flush narcotics down the toilet. Deputies discovered six and a half pills of fentanyl and a glass smoking pipe in the commode.
Upon further inspection of the home, investigators discovered more than 28 grams of methamphetamine and multiple glass pipes with burnt residue. In addition, multiple bags and scales were found commonly used by dealers to weigh and distribute meth.
Asbury was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail. He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, destroying evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $100,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
