CRESTVIEW MAN ARRESTED BY WCSO ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES AFTER RUNNING STOP SIGN IN MOSSY HEAD

A Crestview man is now facing drug and weapons charges after running a stop sign in Mossy Head Tuesday.

A Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 90 and State Highway 285 when he saw a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo run a stop sign.

When the deputy approached the driver’s side window, he immediately smelled marijuana. The driver, Ethan Cole Bobnock, 21, of Crestview, seemed nervous and told the deputy there were no weapons or drugs inside the vehicle.

A K-9 was dispatched to assist with the stop. When a backup deputy arrived on scene, Bobnock was asked to get out of the vehicle and told the deputy he had a gun in his waistband.

After a search of the vehicle, numerous small baggies and a set of scales were found. Deputies also located bags with a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Bobnock was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was issued a $10,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
