FREEPORT, Fla—Walton County Fire Rescue spent several hours Thursday battling a house fire off Highway 20.
At 2:22 pm a 911 call promptly dispatched WCFR to 6444 Highway 20 East just a few miles west of Bruce. Firefighters and Paramedics arrived within minutes to the home to find the two-car garage fully engulfed and moving toward the living quarters.
Crews were able to suppress the fire in the garage and stopped the fire along the wall connecting it to the home. The family was walked through the unburned portion of the home to collect valuables and cash. No injuries were reported.
No electrical outlets or evidence of the origin of the fire could be immediately determined. The fire was said to be accidental in nature.
