STEPFATHER OF SUSPECT IN PANAMA CITY BEACH DOUBLE HOMICIDE ARRESTED IN WALTON COUNTY

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— The stepfather of a suspect in a deadly shooting in Panama City Beach is located by Walton County Sheriff’s Office and is now facing felony charges for accessory to capital murder.

Just after 5 pm Tuesday, March 25th, Walton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a shooting in Panama City Beach and a “Be on the Lookout” was issued for the suspect’s vehicle.

Just after 6 pm, a Walton County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant spotted the suspect’s car and made a felony stop at Highway 98 at E County Highway 30a. The driver was identified as Marwan Kamal Gordon, 46, of Panama City – the stepfather of the suspect in the double homicide.

Gordon was taken to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Santa Rosa Beach substation where he was interviewed by Panama City Beach Police Investigators.

According to the stepfather, the suspect went to the residence in Panama City Beach with a loaded handgun. After leaving the apartment, the suspect fled in his vehicle, which he dropped off at the Publix parking lot located at Highway 98 and N Watersound Parkway. He then called his stepfather to get the car and dispose of it. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant spotted the car moments after Gordon retrieved it.

Gordon admitted to PCBPD that he was aware of the shooting and was trying to help his stepson. He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of accessory to capital murder.

He was transported to the Walton County Jail without incident and is held on no bond.
