FUGITIVE WHO ATTEMPTED TO STAB US MARSHALS SERVICE TASK FORCE MEMBER IN WALTON COUNTY SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON

White male with scraggly brown hair wearing a red jumpsuitWALTON COUNTY, FL— A wanted fugitive out of Okaloosa County is sentenced to a quarter of a century in prison after attempting to stab a member of the US Marshals Service (USMS) Task Force during his arrest.

Steven Alexander Jamison, 22, was apprehended in November 2023 on a felony warrant out of Okaloosa County, facing charges of sexual assault on a child and child abuse. During the arrest, Jamison attempted to stab a member of the USMS Task Force multiple times, but the knife failed to penetrate the officer’s protective vest, leaving the officer unharmed.

After his arrest, Jamison was booked into the Walton County Jail. On August 22, 2024, he was sentenced to 25 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, with a minimum mandatory sentence of five years for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
