WCFR RESPONDS TO MOBILE HOME FIRE IN MOSSY HEAD
Early Thursday at 5:40 am, Walton County Fire Rescue was called to the report of an outside fire on Mixon Road in Mossy Head.
When they arrived, they discovered a double-wide trailer fully involved. Firefighters worked diligently to knock down the blaze and were on the scene for several hours.
DeFuniak Springs Fire Department, Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, and multiple WCFR apparatus including Engine 11, Medic 11, Engine 1, Engine 4, Truck 7, Brush 11, Tanker 7, and both Battalion Chiefs responded to assist.
The home is considered a total loss. No one was home at the time of the incident. The State Fire Marshals Office responded and the Red Cross has been notified.
