WCSO INVESTIGATING REPORTED SHOOTING NEAR WAGON WHEEL BAR IN DEFUNIAK SPRINGS

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting that occurred over the weekend in DeFuniak Springs.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of gunfire just after midnight Saturday where a witness said they heard several rounds fired while standing in the parking lot of the Wagon Wheel Bar located on State Highway 83.

Deputies quickly arrived on scene and located shell casings and began canvassing the area. There were no reported injuries and no reports of property or cars hit by gunfire following the shooting.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded and within hours, a suspect vehicle was located in DeFuniak Springs, and persons of interest were identified. The car was then impounded for processing.
