WCSO ANNOUNCES “ADOPT A DISPATCHER” EFFORT IN PREPARATION FOR TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK
WALTON COUNTY, FLA— Every single day, dispatchers across the country quite literally answer the call to serve their communities through 911 telecommunications.
Now, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office is offering a way for the community to give back to the men and women who act as the unsung heroes of first responders; connecting those in need with law enforcement or fire rescue personnel.
In preparation for honoring our communications professionals during National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week, we are asking the public to “Adopt a Dispatcher” to recognize their service to the community.
Here’s how it works, simply email us at [email protected], and we will email you a completed “Adopt a Dispatcher” questionnaire filled out by each of our dispatchers. Each offering, whether it is a simple note, handwritten card, colored pictures, a sweet treat, or gift basket can be handcrafted to each one of our amazing telecommunicators!
During the week of April 14th-20th, those who wish to participate can drop off items at any Walton County Sheriff’s Office location (Santa Rosa Beach, Freeport, or DeFuniak Springs) or simply mail them to 10 Sheriff Circle DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office is excited to see the inspiring ways you say, “Thank You” during 2024 National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week!
