HEROIN, COCAINE, AND HANDGUN FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOP WITH YOUNG CHILD INSIDE VEHICLE

MOSSY HEAD, Fla— A traffic stop leads to the discovery of drugs and an illegally concealed handgun inside a vehicle carrying a very young child. Now, two women are facing felony charges.
On August 17th deputies conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck at the intersection of Lancelot Road and U.S. Highway 90. Three females were inside the vehicle along with a child.
The driver of the vehicle, Janessa Bailey, 33, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license. K9 Drago was dispatched to the scene and positively alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics.
During the search, heroin and cocaine were found inside the vehicle along with paraphernalia and a 9mm handgun.
Bailey was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to sell, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, the introduction of contraband into a corrections facility, and knowingly driving with a suspended license.
Brittany Clenney, 29, was also arrested as a result of the traffic stop. Aside from an active warrant, Clenney was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and introduction of contraband into a corrections facility.
Following the stop, Walton County Sheriff’s Office Child Protection Unit was contacted to transport the child to a family member.
