POSITION TITLE: Information Technology Systems Administrator

CLOSING DATE: Until filled

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 to $70,000

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking qualified applicants for the position of Information Technology Systems Administrator (SA)


This is a full-time position and will be required to work flexible hours depending on the needs and priorities of the agency. Applicant(s) understand that you will be required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support.

The SA is an I.T. professional responsible for ensuring agency systems and databases are configured for rapid and efficient access at all times. The Walton County Sheriff s Office utilizes multiple emergency service(s) and business applications which store data in various database instances on virtual servers. We seek a highly motivated and knowledgeable I.T. Systems Administrator with experience working on Cisco network devices and servers operating on a virtual platform. In addition to implementing, modifying and maintaining system security devices and protocols we are seeking someone who has experience in working with SQL databases as well. MCSA, MCSE, CCNA or CCNP is preferred but not required.

In addition to his or her duties as SA, the SA will be required to perform various I.T. duties at the direction of the I.T. Manager to include but not limited to system installations, software installations, server maintenance, data backup operations, network cabling and troubleshooting operations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (three years’ experience may supplement for educational requirements)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain FCIC/ NCIC certification

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate
