Inmate Visitation

Visiting Hours
  • Visitation thumbInmates with a last name beginning with A - M will have visitation on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

  • Inmates with a last name beginning N - Z will have visitation on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

  • AC/PC Confinement inmates wil lbe allowed visitation on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Appointments only

  • Day Trustees will be allowed visitation on the days they are not scheduled to work. 
  • Night Trustees will be allowed visitation on the days coordinating with their last name.

Visitation Rules
  • Appointments must be scheduled 24 hours in advance for visitation with an inmate located in AC/PC Confinement or Medical. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 850-892-8196.

  • Each inmate is allowed up to two hours of visitation per week. Visitation sessions are 30 minutes each.

  • If you are late for your scheduled visit you forfeit your visit and must reschedule for another day. Visitors must arrive on time, together if they plan to visit at the same time. Anyone who arrives after the visit has started will not be admitted.

  • Visitors must have proper, current photo identification with their current address listed. NO VALID IENDIFICATION = NO VISIT. Visitors are required to provide their name, current address, and relationship to the inmate.

  • Only two (2) visitors are allowed, not including minors, during a visitation session. Minors are permitted visitation with an inmate only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Only the Director of Jail Operations can authorize, in advance, for a minor to visit accompanied by another adult. Visitors may only visit one inmate per day. An exception may be made in advance, at the discretion of the Director of Jail Operations, if the visitor is an immediate family member of more than one inmate confined in the facility.
    • Proper photo identification is required of all visitors.
    • An adult must accompany any child under the age of 18 years.
    • Children visitors must stay with their custodian at all times. If this is not done, visitation may be canceled.
  • Visitation will be denied if the visitor refuses to comply with the dress code

                   Dress Code

    • Shirt and shoes must be worn
    • No shorts cut higher than mid-thigh
    • No skirts or dresses that are shorter than knee height
    • Shirts must have sleeves and cover the entire upper torso
    • Pants must be above the waist line and will not expose under garments
    • No see-through or tight fitting clothing
    • No clothing marked with offensive or profane words or pictures
  • All inmate visitors are subject to warrant checks. Individuals who are court ordered not have to have contact with the inmate will not be allowed to visit. If an attempt to visit is made, that inmates' visitation privilege may be revoked for all visitors (except legally mandated visits) during that inmate’s period of incarceration.

  • Visitors who become rude and/or use vulgar or abusive language while in the lobby or visitation areas will be asked to leave. Failure to leave when asked may result in criminal charges.

  • Visitors are not allowed to bring ANY personal items inside the visitation area. All belongings must be left inside your vehicle. This agency is not responsible for any property belonging to a visitor.
  • Visitors who are unruly or under the visible influence of drugs, alcohol, or other mood or mind altering substance will be denied visitation and will be subject to criminal charges.

  • All visitors must successfully clear the metal detector or be searched prior to entering the facility. Introduction of contraband is a violation of State law and may result in criminal prosecution.
  • Previously incarcerated persons will not be allowed to visit for 60 days from their release. The Director of Jail Operations or his designee can take request for special circumstance visits.

  • Food/drinks are not allowed inside the visitation area.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Walton County Jail facility

  • Inmates will be responsible for the behavior of their visitors. Obscene and/or offensive gestures, acts or language is strictly prohibited.
  • Any attempt to pass an item to an inmate, or leave an item on the grounds or in the lobby or restrooms could result in the visitor being charged with introduction of contraband into a jail facility per FSS 951.22.

  • The facility reserves the right to refuse the entrance of any person, or terminate any visit when deemed necessary to enforce the rules and regulations for the security of the facility.
  • Visitors or inmates found in violation of the rules will be subject to temporary or permanent suspension of visiting privileges or other appropriate action.

  • Consistent violation of the visitation rules may result in that visitor being banned from visitation permanently.
