Deputies responded to Wal-Mart in DeFuniak Springs on Friday, July 11th, and made contact with a victim who stated she was being held against her will. Deputies noticed she was physically and emotionally distraught and was observed to have several injuries to include a swollen black eye. The victim told deputies that she had been held against her will in her home, by Robbie Skaggs, since Wednesday, July 9th. Skaggs hit her with the blunt end of a hatchet causing several bruises and lacerations on the back of her head and used a machete causing small lacerations and bruising around the victim’s rib cage. The victim was not allowed to leave the residence until she accompanied Skaggs to Wal-Mart on Friday evening, where she used the bathroom and asked someone to call 911.
Robbie Randall Skaggs, 51, of 1135 Smith Road, DeFuniak Springs, was arrested for aggravated battery, using a deadly weapon and kidnapping-false imprisonment.
