On Saturday, August 2, 2014, Deputy Gibson was attempting to locate John Geralds, of 127 Center Street, Freeport, who had warrants out of Okaloosa County. Deputy Gibson had gathered information that led him to believe Geralds was traveling with a Jonathan Brown, also of 127 Center St Freeport, in a white Yukon.

While in the area of Juniper Avenue, Deputy Gibson observed the Yukon and eventually stopped the vehicle.  Brown exited the vehicle and spoke to the Deputy. Throughout the conversation it was learned that Geralds was in fact at Brown’s residence and that there was an active methamphetamine lab. Deputy Gibson contacted the VICE/Narcotics Unit upon learning this information and obtained a consent to search the residence.

Once the VICE/Narcotics Unit arrived, the residence was searched and several listed chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine was found as well as over 14 grams of methamphetamine oil.

Jonathan Brown was arrested and charged with the production of methamphetamine, traffic in methamphetamine 14 grams or over and possession of narcotic equipment.

John Geralds was arrested and charged with the production of methamphetamine, traffic in methamphetamine 14 grams or over, possession of narcotic equipment and failure to register address as a sex offender.

Brown and Geralds are currently in the Walton County Department of Corrections.
