Catherine has more than five years of experience as a Community Relations Coordinator and Public Information Officer as well as experience in media relations and crisis communication. Prior to her employment with the Walton County Sheriff's office, Catherine worked for the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the University of West Florida and the US Embassy in Honduras. During her time at Okaloosa, she was chosen to assist the US Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force to improve media policies and procedures for their special fugitive operations. While at the US Embassy, Catherine worked with senior members of the US Country Team such as the US Ambassador, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Regional Security Office, as well as key members of the Honduran Government covering political unrest, crime, drug and arms trafficking and a host of other issues.
Catherine is on-call 24 hours a day and is responsible for developing and delivering crisis communications, public awareness campaigns, media interviews, upkeep of social media outlets, documenting the Agency through photography and videography and communicating WCSO initiatives to the public. She serves as a Public Information Officer co-chair for the Northwest Florida Regional Domestic Security Task Force, Region One and is secretary for the Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
Catherine holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of West Florida and a Bachelor of Arts from Auburn University and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Northwest Florida State College.
