VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 

OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE: 

POSITION TITLE: Chaplain (part-time) 

CLOSING DATE: Thursday, January 12, 2017 

SALARY RANGE: $15.00 per hour 

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chaplain. This is a part-time position working up to 29 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY: 

This position provides a balance of religious groups consistent with the inmate population. This position must maintain a calendar notifying staff and inmates of activities. Religious holy days of obligation must be included in the calendar with reference to participation requirements. The calendar must also include a schedule of volunteer led activities, Chaplain lead services, and counseling and generic prayer times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS: 

* Must be at least 18 years of age.

* Must have a valid driver’s license.

* Must have a minimum of five years Pastoral/Ministerial experience

* Must be an Ordained Minister

* Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a Theological College.

* Must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

*Has the ability to read, interpret, follow and apply agency policies and procedures relating to the position.

*Must demonstrate congenial, respectful, and productive behaviors and attitudes towards others.

*Must have the ability and appropriate judgment to look beyond surface issues to identify and analyze problems and develop effective responses and solutions to resolve such problems.

*Must demonstrate an understanding, consideration, and respect of cultural, religious, and gender differences when interacting with inmates and the public.

*Must demonstrate a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image when engaged in any activity with the public.

*Must conduct him/herself in an ethical and professional manner, abiding by the established code of conduct.
