Accreditation

CFA-logo maroon-final2The Walton County Sheriff's Office continued its contract with the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation through 2013 to continue with agency accreditation. The 2013 annual report was completed and submitted to the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. The Accreditation Staff continues collecting required proofs and, to date, no deficiencies have been discovered.

Lieutenant Jimmy Fannin assisted the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation in conducting two (2) assessments on other law enforcement agencies (Florida Department of Agriculture and the Nassau County Sheriff's Office). Lieutenant Fannin continues to serve on the SRIC (Standards Review and Interpretation Committee) for the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. The Walton County Sheriff's Office remains 100% compliant with all mandatory and non-mandatory standards.

In addition, Sheriff Michael A. Adkinson, Jr. has been selected to sit as Chair for the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. This allows Sheriff Adkinson to not only serve Walton County, but provide guidance to all accredited law enforcement agencies in the State of Florida.
