The Bureau's victim advocate is funded through a grant. The victim advocate provides a myriad of services to victims of crime, to include assistance with victim's compensation and injunctions for protection, as well as outside agency referrals. The victim advocate also provides assistance to investigators and patrol deputies in the agency and responds to crime scenes as needed.
In 2013, the victim advocate provided assistance to 373
victims of domestic violence, 22
adult victims of sexual assault and 177
children who were victims of physical or sexual abuse. In all, the victim advocate provided assistance to 740
citizens in 2013.
